Want to be the hero at your annual deer camp? You can volunteer to bring the campfire beers every season without spending a dime. You'll have no shortage of hunting buddies; but how is this possible you ask? All you have to do is legally change your name to "Hunter" and Busch Light will give you 19 years worth of beer money to celebrate the 19th year the American brewer has rolled out its camo-clad cans for hunting season.
But, you really have to do it — legally change your first name to Hunter, and follow all the other contest rules, and be 21, of course to win the "Become A Hunter" sweepstakes. The camo cans also afford a chance to win a sweet whitetail hunting trip in Missouri, but more on that later.

If you were to go through with the name change, it wouldn't be the first time someone’s done something questionable for beer money, but Busch might be the first to make you put it on your driver’s license.
“At Busch Light, we know hunters are dedicated, passionate, and always up for the thrill of the chase. Our dedication to our fans is no different, so we’re celebrating our shared love for the great outdoors with not only new Busch Light Hunting Cans, but also a hunt for fans who’d honor the sport by changing their name,” said Krystyn Stowe, head of marketing for the Busch Family & Natural Family, Anheuser-Busch.
Why focus on a a name change? Apparently, the name Hunter has dropped 93% in popularity in the last five years. Busch says it’s stepping in to save the name before it disappears into the woods like that Sasquatch your cousin Carl swears he saw last season. Busch will even cover the fees and paperwork.

Fans 21 and older can jump on the “Become a Hunter” campaign by following Busch on social and posting that they’re ready to #BecomeAHunter until Oct. 13. One winner will get the 19-year beer bankroll.
But you may ask — what if my idea of 19-years-worth of beer is different from Busch Light's? It's all spelled out in the rules: If you win, you get a $5,500 prepaid card, which they say would allow you to buy a 30-pack of Busch Light per month for 19 years (assuming the price of the 30 rack doesn't change) — or roughly a beer a day.
And because nothing brings people together like cheap beer and a gimmick, Busch is also hosting a Hunter Gathering in Appleton, Wisconsin. Real Hunters, new Hunters, and guys just looking for free beer will all be there to swap stories, score merch, and hang out with the Busch Guy.

Donating to a Good Cause and Win a Missouri Whitetail Hunting Trip
Busch is also sweetening the pot in a few other ways. The brand’s fifth year of partnership with Ducks Unlimited brings a $50,000 donation to the organization for wetland conservation.
And tucked inside some 12-packs is a Blaze Orange Trophy can, which is a sort of Willy Wonka golden ticket that could land you a five-day Missouri whitetail hunt with the Keefer Brothers, airfare and lodging included. Only 500 of those cans are out there, so you’d better hunt them down before they disappear.
Busch doesn’t really need a sweepstakes to win over hunters. The cans have already earned their place, and nicknames, in camp. They’re cheap, cold, and light enough you can drink a few without sabotaging your 4 a.m. wake-up. And once a year, they come wrapped in camouflage.
Every camp has its Busch lore. The guy who never packs his own cooler but somehow always has a hand in yours. The buck photo with a camo can in the frame. The one uncle who insists Busch tastes better out of the camo cans than the regular ones.
The new sweepstakes just adds to the folklore. Maybe Cousin Carl will actually become “Hunter" hunter. And in a few years, when he cracks a free Busch Light at deer camp, you can bet the story will be told again, a little louder, a little funnier, and with plenty of guys claiming they “almost did it, too.”
The 2025 Busch Light Hunting Cans are once again on shelves, while supplies last.
