I've been writing professionally for 35 years, and my work has appeared in numerous consumer gun magazines, law enforcement and military journals. Competition shooting sparked my interest in equipment and gun reviews and what was once a hobby is now a full-time endeavor. In addition to approximately 1400 articles, I have also authored a novel called Operation Wide Receiver, which details my experience of selling guns to cartel members at the behest of the United States government.

What the outdoors mean to Mike:
I absolutely love the desert! Living in the heart of the great Sonoran Desert allows me to enjoy the beautiful mountain vistas, majestic Saguaro cacti and all the wonderful creatures that call the desert home-from Javelina to Mountain Lions and Bobcats to Mule deer and Antelope. Southern Arizona is brimming with natural treasures and a day in the desert makes me the richest person I know :)
