Shimano was showing off its new and recently announced Exsense B spinning reels at ICAST 2025. The spinner’s lightweight frame is now available in a 2500-size option with speedy XG gearing (6:4:1). The Shimano Exsense B is built around the MGL Rotor, which is constructed from a lightweight carbon-infused CI4+ material.
Rotational inertia is slashed by the rotor’s asymmetrical design, giving anglers instant startup and agile bait control with every turn of the handle. And that’s what you need for precision presentations and to feel subtle bites before executing smooth retrieves.
The included InfinityLoop technology enhances spool oscillation and line lay for longer, more fluid casts. Shimano’s Infinity Drive provides effortless reeling under load, and their InfinityXross gear design improves durability. The Shimano Exsense B also feature Rapid Fire Drag for fast and precise drag adjustments during an intense fight, as the DuraCross drag system provides silky-smooth resistance.
