CZ USA has built a hard-earned reputation for producing reliable, accurate, ergonomic firearms. The brand’s 457 rimfire is a prime example. It’s a popular design that has earned trust the old-fashioned way, by shooting straight and doing it consistently.
Now, CZ is adding two new rifles to the family, and they couldn’t be aimed at more different shooters. The new CZ 457 Target is built for competition. The CZ 457 Hunter Veil is built for open country and long days in the field. Both rifles are built on the proven CZ 457 action, but are aimed at very different shooters.
CZ 457 Target Rifle
If you shoot rimfire competition, fit matters as much as raw accuracy. CZ clearly understands that, because the 457 Target is all about adjustability.
The rifle sits in a fully adjustable aluminum chassis that was developed in partnership with Olympic gold medalist Matt Emmons. The pistol grip adjusts on three axes and comes in three sizes.
The cheekpiece adjusts in three directions and flips side to side, with a different contour on each face. Out back, the buttstock tilts, the buttpad adjusts on five axes, and the shoulder hook can be tuned for both shape and angle.
Up front, the forehand riser also adjusts on three axes to fine-tune how the rifle settles into your support hand.

These features allow shooters of every shape, size, and preference to get that perfect, Goldilocks fit in all the places that count.
But CZ didn’t just consider fit in the target-shooting equation. To maximize accuracy, the 457 Target features a 26-inch cold hammer-forged Match barrel with a target crown. CZ guarantees 12 mm, 10-shot groups at 50 meters, which is serious performance in this class.
The barrel includes a diffuser with an 11mm dovetail, making it easy to add a front sight or balance weights.
The 457 Target also features CZ’s lightest trigger yet. The two-stage Flyweight Trigger is fully adjustable, from travel and pull weight to blade position. It ships set at about 110 grams.

CZ 457 Hunter Veil

While the 457 Target is built for shooters who measure success in millimeters, its cousin, the 457 Hunter Veil lives in a different world. This one is meant for field edges, open ground, and hunting where a rimfire still earns its keep.
This model sports a durable polymer stock finished in Veil Big Sky camo. The barrel, receiver, and bolt knob are treated with a bronze PVD coating, which adds corrosion resistance and gives the rifle a clean, rugged look.
The 457 Hunter Veil features a 20-inch threaded barrel with a pre-installed compensator and an adjustable trigger that lets you tune the pull without aftermarket parts.
This is a practical hunting rimfire with a few thoughtful upgrades. It’s built to be used, not to live in a safe.
