Folds of Honor is marking America’s 250th anniversary with a limited-edition apparel collection that gives supporters a simple way to show their patriotism while supporting military and first-responder families.
In honor of America’s 250 birthday celebrations, Folds of Honor America 250 apparel collection includes patriotic T-shirts and hats created to recognize the nation’s legacy of service and sacrifice. More importantly, the merchandise supports the nonprofit’s scholarship mission for the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. military service members and first responders.
“Mostly it’s the understanding that there are men and women out there who for well over 100 years have paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of our freedoms,” said Retired Air Force Col and Folds of Honor President Nick Nichols. “America’s 250th is a time of reflection. As we take stock of what we have as a country and how none of this happened without men and women willingly giving their lives to make sure that we have the freedoms that we do, we also should think of their families and their sacrifices.”
The collection is available now through the Folds of Honor online store.

“Mostly it’s the understanding that there are men and women out there who for well over 100 years have paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of our freedoms," So, Memorial Day is about way more than car sales and clothing sales and all of that. It's a time of reflection for all Americans to take stock of what we have as a country and that none of this happened without men and women willingly giving their lives to make sure that we have the freedoms that we do.
Why Folds of Honor Matters
Buying a T-shirt or hat is not the same as writing a scholarship check, but in this case, the purchase still makes a difference. Folds of Honor uses support from merchandise sales donations and other campaigns to help fund educational scholarships for families who continue carrying the cost of service long after the uniform comes off.
What Support Does Folds of Honor Provide?
Since its founding in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded roughly 73,000 scholarships across the country, helping students pursue education through:
- Private school
- Tutoring
- College
- Community college
- Trade school
- Technical programs
- Postgraduate work.
Previous campaigns include a celebrity Folds of Honor softball game and a Folds of Honor Memorial Day special.

Folds of Honor Celebrates America 250
The America 250 collection ties that mission to a national milestone. As the country looks back on 250 years of history, Folds of Honor is using the moment to remind Americans that service and sacrifice are not abstract ideas. They belong to real families, real students and real futures.
Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot, PGA Professional and Oklahoma Air Guard officer. According to the organization, 91 percent of its expenses go toward its scholarship mission. Folds of Honor is also rated as a four-star charity by Charity Navigator and holds a Platinum rating from Candid.
For Hook & Barrel readers, this is less about another patriotic shirt drop and more about a practical way to support families connected to military and first-responder service. If the America 250 collection gives supporters one more reason to learn about Folds of Honor, donate or help fund a scholarship, the merchandise has done its job.
