Veteran shooting world champion, veteran, and author Julie Golob has officially partnered with Springfield Armory as a brand ambassador and professional shooter. Springfield made the announcement this week.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Springfield Armory,” Golob said in a release. “I’ve long admired the company’s values, vision, innovation, and leadership. I’m honored to have the opportunity to be a part of that heritage and excited to shoot Springfield Armory’s exceptional firearms.”

Golob was part of the Army Action Shooting Team after high school and served as a champion shooter and instructor there. She was named U.S. Army Female Athlete of the Year in 1999. In her post-military professional life, Golob has competed for Team Glock and then Team Smith & Wesson for nearly 20 years. She announced her departure from S&W earlier this month.

She was also a part of the Safariland team for more than a decade, and she has represented Team USA in international competitions, including the World Shoot. Additionally, Golob’s titles include top honors in Bianchi Cup, Steel Challenge, USPSA, IDPA and IPSC competitions.

These days, Golob shares her passion for firearm safety, shooting sports, conservation, and hunting as an instructor, consultant, speaker, ambassador, and creator. As a published author of a primer on shooting sports, Shoot: Your Guide to Shooting and Competition, and a children’s book on firearm safety, Toys, Tools, Guns & Rules: A Children’s Book About Gun Safety, Golob has also written numerous articles for prominent firearms publications.

“Taking her place alongside Springfield Armory’s legendary pro shooter Rob Leatham, Golob will employ her proven skills as a professional shooter and content creator in addition to helping guide new product development for the company in this new role,” Springfield said in a release.

“We couldn’t be more proud to have Julie join the Springfield Armory team,” said Steve Kramer, vice president of marketing for Springfield. “With her wealth of knowledge, voluminous skill, and extensive experience in the shooting industry, she will bring an invaluable and unique perspective to the company’s efforts to continuously innovate and grow.”
