The Springfield Kuna strikes again with a new Tri-Lug variant designed for quick-attach suppressor interfaces.
As Springfield Armory Insider fans know, Springfield’s engineers rarely rest on their laurels. The latest example is the Springfield Armory Kuna Tri-Lug 9mm. The key takeaway is simple: It adds an integrated Tri-Lug muzzle designed for quick, tool-free attachment of compatible suppressors.
Back in April 2025, Hook & Barrel’s Todd Burgreen was one of the first to test Springfield’s original Kuna. We hailed it as the PDW that feels like an SMG. For testing, Burgreen busted out his BANISH 9K and ultimately found the Kuna to be an impressive suppressor host.

Kuna Tri-Lug Overview
The Kuna Tri-Lug 9mm pistol combines roller-delayed performance with a classic and proven suppressor-mounting interface. The result is a system that is both ruggedly simple and easily adaptable.
The new Kuna’s integrated Tri-Lug system features three integrally machined lugs at the muzzle of the 6-inch barrel, allowing compatible suppressors to be installed or removed quickly and securely without tools. A simple push-and-twist connection makes transitioning between suppressed and unsuppressed configurations fast and intuitive.
“At its launch, the roller-delayed 9mm Kuna helped set a new standard for large-format pistols,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “The new Kuna Tri-Lug takes this modern and popular design and adds a proven muzzle interface mount, offering shooters the best of both the modern and the classic.”

Personal-Defense Ready
A case can be made that a suppressed Kuna Tri-Lug 9mm could be an effective home-defense firearm. Or it can simply be one of the coolest guns to have fun with at the range. Either way, the Kuna is a PDW-style pistol built to deliver strong performance in a portable package.
Its monolithic aluminum upper provides a durable frame for the roller-delayed operating system, which helps reduce felt recoil. Fully ambidextrous, the feature-rich platform comes with two 30-round magazines. Versions with 10-round magazines are also offered for capacity-restricted jurisdictions.
Precision manufactured for optimal fit and function, the Kuna’s small profile, nimble handling and generous capacity make it a capable personal-defense platform.
Kuna Tri-Lug Variants
The Kuna Tri-Lug is offered in two primary versions: the Kuna Tri-Lug, with a Picatinny rail located at the rear of the monolithic receiver and an MSRP of $1,179, and a model equipped with a side-folding Strike Industries FSA brace, priced at $1,330.
Both Kuna Tri-Lug models are also offered through Springfield Armory’s FIRSTLINE program, which provides discounts to a range of qualified professionals.
