Diamond Radian: Youth Compound Bow Built to Grow

The Diamond Radian is built for youth and smaller-framed shooters who don't want to sacrifice performance — or growth.

The Diamond Radian Youth Compound Bow is Diamond Archery's answer to a familiar problem.

Young hunters express an interest in archery and after parents relent to finally buy a compound bow, they outgrow it fast. Adjustable bows also often make you sacrifice performance for flexibility.

It's a problem that Diamond Archery believes they've solved with the Radian Youth Compound Bow.

At 2.9 pounds with a full accessories package included, the Diamond Radian is built for the field from day one — specifically designed to grow alongside young hunters.

What is the Diamond Radian?

The Radian is Diamond Archery's updated replacement for the Prism, built specifically for youth and smaller-framed shooters.

It is a split-limb compound bow offering a draw weight range of 10 to 55 pounds and a draw length range of 16.5 to 29.5 inches — a range wide enough to carry a shooter from first arrow to first harvest, without swapping bows.

Out of the box, the riser anodisation is even with no visible blemishing, the limb pockets seat flush without play, and the cam system draws smoothly with a consistent ramp-up into the back wall — tolerances that are typically absent in entry-level bows at this price point.

“Every serious archer starts somewhere, and the Radian is built for those who want more from their first bow,” explains Diamond's Jackson Huston.

“Designed specifically for youth and smaller-framed shooters, the Radian delivers the performance, components, and adjustability typically found in bows built for adults.

"Lightweight, loaded with premium features, and built to grow with them, the Radian proves you don't have to sacrifice quality for size.”

Adjustability and Build Quality

Adjustability is the Radian's headline feature, but wide-range adjustability has a reputation for costing you somewhere — usually in build quality or durability. Diamond has addressed that directly with the metal mods upgrade.

"These are very durable and easy to adjust," said Huston. "That's important for a lot of pro shops. All of the screws and mods are aluminum.

"That helps with adjustments, taking out screws, and reinserting them without wearing out over time."

After cycling the bow across its full adjustment range — increasing draw weight from 30 to 50 lbs and altering draw length — the cam timing remained stable and the back wall stayed firm, with no noticeable increase in vibration or loss of alignment.

At 30 lbs the draw cycle is linear with minimal stacking, while at 50 lbs it builds into a defined, repeatable back wall that holds cleanly under anchor, indicating consistent limb and cam performance throughout the adjustment range.

What's Included

The Radian ships hunt-ready. Included accessories cover everything a youth hunter needs to get into the field: a three-pin sight, full-capture brush rest, Furnace quiver, peep sight, and D-loop.

"It comes with a good sight," Huston said. "This is a three-pin that's really easy to adjust. It offers micro-adjustments for elevation and windage."

At 20 yards, the three-pin sight was zeroed within a single adjustment cycle, with positive, repeatable clicks and no drift under repeated shots, while the included quiver secures arrows tightly without rattle and mounts firmly to the riser with no shift during use

The bow is also available in four finishes: black, forest, sandstone, and Mossy Oak Bottomland.

Who Is the Diamond Radian For?

The Diamond Radian is built for the shooter it was designed around — youth archers, smaller-framed beginners, and first-time hunters stepping into a true compound platform.

The adjustment range isn’t a spec sheet add-on; it’s what allows the bow to track a shooter’s development from early form-building through to confident, repeatable shooting at practical distances.

That range does define its limits. As a shooter approaches the upper end of the draw weight spectrum, the 55 lb ceiling becomes the natural cutoff before moving into higher-powered setups designed for larger game and extended range.

Within that window, the Radian does exactly what it sets out to do. It holds tuning across adjustments, the draw cycle remains controlled and consistent, and the included package is sufficient to get a new archer shooting accurately without immediate modification.

It’s a complete, field-capable starting point that carries its user through the stages that matter most.
