What the outdoors mean to Alex:

Outdoors is life. It is where we are meant to be. Screen-filled climate-controlled, lumbar-supporting indoors are a convenience, and built to accommodate and accomplish the demands of being part of a modern society, but it's not real. Nature is honest, one can be small without feeling insignificant. We are animals, and connecting with that side of our nature is one of the most important things for a person's wellbeing and mental health. That being said, I do like fluffy beds, hot showers, bug screens, and cooking over natural gas in air conditioning. Arizona is hot in July. It's all a balance, I guess.
