Tom Venesky is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in more than 60 publications. He was previously a sports writer for several newspapers, where his beats included the outdoors and the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. My life has been defined by the outdoors. My father took me hunting and fishing at an early age, and those experiences guided me into my current career as a writer. If you write about something you love, it doesn't feel like work. My passion to be in the woods has kept me on a good path in life, and I cherish the opportunity to pass it on to my kids.
