The Savage Axis earned its reputation the hard way. It’s the rifle that lives behind a truck seat, leans in a camp corner, and gets handed to a new hunter because you know it’ll go bang and hit where it’s pointed. The price tag just makes it easier to say yes.

Now, Savage has two new members to the Axis family: The Axis 2 and the Axis 2 Pro.

The redesigned Axis 2 inherits the family’s no-nonsense DNA, but with better ergonomics and an updated bolt handle. But the big upgrade here is the user-adjustable AccuTrigger.

The accuracy is there right out of the box. Savage’s thread-in headspacing helps keep tolerances tight, which shows up on paper when you start stacking shots. This is a rifle you can pull from the cardboard, mount glass, and head for the woods.

The lineup covers just about every hunter you know. Full-size and compact models. A complete spectrum of popular hunting calibers. Options for lefties. Optics-ready packages. Plenty of color choices if black isn’t your thing. From the big woods to open country, there’s an Axis 2 made for the job.

The Axis 2 Pro leans harder into rough use. Savage camo patterns, Cerakote finishes, and threaded barrels make these rifles a solid choice for hunters who don’t baby their gear. It also features an updated bolt handle with a sleek, ergonomic design that delivers big in the functionality department. It’s engineered to enhance user control and comfort, especially in rainy, cold conditions.

The Axis line has always been about honest performance. These new arrivals keep that promise. These are rifles you buy to hunt with, not fuss over.
