Frank Melloni

Frank Melloni is Ammunitions Editor for Hook & Barrel, specializing in long-range shooting, precision rifles, and ammunition. He entered the firearms industry after competing on History Channel's Top Shot, then earned certification as an NRA instructor and founded Renaissance Firearms Instruction, a multi-discipline training academy on Long Island, New York.

Driven by a passion for consistency, he focuses on every component that goes into a precise shot, and ammunition, including handloading and ballistics, is the subject that interests him most. He has competed in NRA High Power, NRA Smallbore Silhouette, USPSA, and IDPA, and his writing has appeared in American Rifleman, Shooting Illustrated, Gun Digest, and Ballistic.

When he isn't shooting or teaching, he enjoys freshwater and saltwater fishing, hiking, camping, and nearly any other reason to be outdoors.
